Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos gave an update on Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie who was reported missing over the weekend.

Nanos described Nancy’s home as a “crime scene” and officials do not believe she left the home on her own, according to a report from WKYT on Monday, February 2.

Nancy was reported missing in Arizona on Sunday, February 1, when a family member called 911. She was last seen at home in Catalina Foothills on Saturday, January 31, and Nanos described the scene at Nancy’s home as “very concerning.”

While he previously said that Nancy, 84, is “very alert, she’s of good, sound mind” and has “no cognitive issues,” she’s “not in good physical health.”

Savannah, 54, did not appear on Monday’s episode of Today, but her cohosts Sheinelle Jones and Craig Melvin covered the situation, including a statement from Savannah and her family.

“On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom,” the statement read. “We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”
