L’Équipe reports that Olympique Marseille left back Quentin Merlin is on Borussia Mönchengladbach’s wish list, while the French publication also claims that other Bundesliga clubs are showing interest in the 23-year-old, though no specific names are cited. Merlin has been heavily capped at France U21 level and maintains an estimated market value of €15m.
Since transferring to OM in January 2024, Merlin has scored one goal and contributed four assists in 46 competitive appearances for his Ligue 1 outfit. His performances at the recent UEFA U21 European Championship have raised his profile further. The Nantes-native price tag may nevertheless ultimately prove a stumbling block for Gladbach.
It remains common knowledge that the Niedderrheiner must complete several sales before they can begin contemplating summer purchases. Thus far, the BMG administrative team have only found themselves capable of completing minor transactions.
Links with other German top flight clubs could nevertheless begin cropping up soon.
