Enterprising Hong Kong champions Tai Po have set their sights on conquering Asia, both on the field and off it.
And to help achieve that, they are looking to tap into the know-how behind Manchester United’s recent high-profile visit to the city.
The ambitious club have enlisted Paul Kam, whose ProEvents company has staged several marquee matches across the continent over three decades, to arrange around three high-profile overseas friendly fixtures each season. Kam promoted United’s tour of Malaysia and Hong Kong in May.
“We want our club to have more exposure in the Asian market,” Francis Yip, who bankrolls Tai Po alongside his wife Catherine, told the Post.
“That would bring more attention from sponsors, and more money. Paul has connections and experience in staging matches here and overseas,” he said.
