Samsung looks set to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE foldables on 9 July, according to a reputable tipster.
Evan Blass, aka @evleaks, has taken to X to announce that Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on 9 July 2025 at 10AM EDT (that’s 2PM GMT).
Given that ‘EDT’ designation, it seems likely that we’re looking at a New York-based Unpacked event.
It’s a departure from the previous rumour, which pegged the date at 13 July. We’d put our money behind this one, though, given the proven reliability of the source.
What to expect from Samsung Unpacked
For the uninitiated, Samsung’s Unpacked events are where it launches major new hardware, typically smartphones and other associated smart devices.
In this case, the July Samsung Unpacked event is almost certainly going to see the launch of Samsung’s new foldable smartphone range, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
Who knows? We might even get a glimpse at Samsung’s Project Moohan Android XR headset.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 specs
Let’s not get away from the main event, though. After a couple of years of being outflanked by its Chinese rivals, Samsung is promising big things for its follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The company has been making strange allusions to its ‘Ultra’ range in pre-launch Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 materials. We’re not sure this means there’s going to be a Galaxy Fold Ultra, as such, but we are expecting a major advance in design and feature set.
That should involve a significantly thinner and lighter body and a much improved camera system – two areas where Samsung has lagged behind the competition of late.
