Russia punches through Ukrainian lines at Kursk in blow to Zelensky

Rybar, a Russian military Telegram channel, said that Russian forces were producing tangible results in several sectors.

A video posted on Russian Telegram channels under the title “Announcement from the 155th Guards Brigade of the Pacific Fleet” showed badly injured Ukrainian soldiers with blood running down their faces tied to chairs in what appears to be a basement, and then the bodies of dozens of dead Ukrainian infantrymen lying in a piece of sparse woodland.

It was not possible to authenticate the video, although Russian military bloggers said that marines from the Pacific Fleet’s 155th Guards Brigade had been involved in fighting around the Glushkovsky district of Kursk, where most Ukrainian forces had allegedly been overrun.

“Ukrainian forces are only still present in a gully… as well as a small triangle of forest south of the railway,” Rybar said. The Glushkovsky district lies to the west of Sudzha, a Russian town under Ukrainian control.
