Daniel Dubois has his shot at redemption as he rematches against Oleksandr Usyk. The British boxer suffered a ninth-round defeat to the Ukrainian nearly two years ago following a controversial low blow call.
Despite flooring Usyk in the fifth, the referee’s ruling allowed Usyk several minutes to recover. Since losing that heavyweight world title challenge, Dubois has bounced back impressively and enters the rematch with a title of his own. After defeating Jarrell Miller in December 2023, he earned the opportunity to compete for the IBF interim champion title. He claimed it by beating Filip Hrgovic in June of last year, and was then upgraded to full champion status when Usyk vacated the belt. His first defence, a fifth-round knockout of Anthony Joshua, marked three consecutive wins for Dynamite.
Now he has the opportunity to correct past mistakes and become the undisputed champion, while Usyk aims to regain that honour for the second time in his undefeated career so far. Here’s all the essential timings you need to know ahead of the bout, which will take place in front of a near-capacity crowd at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.
