Reynoldsburg City Schools Board of Education approved making $8.3 million in cuts Tuesday night, but more cuts will be needed as the district deals with a major budget deficit and the fallout of a November levy failure.
The cuts include losing 51 teachers, five of its seven social workers, and five of its nine elementary assistant principals. The district also will increase pay-to-play fees to $400 for junior high athletics and $500 for high school athletics.
In addition, the district will reduce program and class offerings, delay facility maintenance, modify safety and security, and modify building boundaries to address overcrowding and improve busing efficiency.
The cuts will be effective for the 2025-2026 school year.
