Emporia, Kansas (Velo) – Karolina Migoń wins the 2025 Unbound Gravel 200 women’s race by pulling away from the likes of Cecily Decker and Lauren Stephens with 55 miles left to go. Migoń’s finish comes after winning the Traka 360 last month and a roughly 10-minute lead over second place this year.
The finish came as a story of three moves. The first move seemed to come at the mile 70.5 aid station, as Lauren Stephens, Karolina Migon, and eventually Cecily Decker built a strong break and a three-minute gap over the chase group. By mile 139, however, we found Migoń and Decker worked as Lauren Stephens eventually seemed to hit a wall in the heat.
Soon thereafter, Decker dropped off with ~48 miles to go. Shortly thereafter, that lead ballooned to 15 minutes. While Decker was able to hold onto a second-place finish, Sofia Gomez Villafañe pushed her way to a third-place finish in a four-way sprint between Lauren De Crescenzo, Rosa Klöser, and Cecile Lejeune.
Stay tuned as this story continues to update from Unbound Gravel 2025.
