Women can find spring fashion inspiration at Rescue & Restore Church’s Ladies’ Fashion Show on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the church’s main sanctuary, 120 Willow Ave., Olyphant.
“We would love to have everyone come see our church and promote the community and have a good time together,” said Linda Munley, wife of Rescue & Restore Church’s pastor, the Rev. Jack Munley, and fashion show organizer.
The event will feature local businesses including Design 2 Consign Boutique, theKimmy Boutique, Tagson, Deliah and David’s Children’s Couture and Chelsie Jane’s Styles.
During the show, Marisa Fabri, owner of Design 2 Consign Boutique, 213 Lackawanna Ave., Olyphant, will showcase trendy to classic vintage clothing, featuring jean jackets and vintage vogue styles.
Fabri feels “very honored and blessed” participating in the fashion show. She said it is “very nice to bring the community together and support each other.”
Fabri said she hopes to “bring back the fun of wearing hats” and has outfits that will display “hats with a modern twist” at the fashion show.
Kim Evans, owner of theKimmy Boutique, 203 Lackawanna Ave., Olyphant, whose shop is known for bohemian-style clothing, will showcase animal prints and patriotic apparel.
Evans usually attends fashion shows to find items for her shop, and this will be her first time displaying clothing at a show.
“We have a really beautiful downtown and it is getting more and robust as the day goes on,” said Evans.
She said she hopes the fashion show will “bring some exposure to the stores downtown.”
The Ladies’ Fashion Show will be held in the new main upstairs sanctuary, according to Linda Munley.
“Rescue & Restore is 100% in support of helping the community,” said Fabri.
Proceeds from the Ladies’ Fashion Show will help with renovations that the church has been working on for about three years with assistance from volunteers, according to Linda Munley. Rescue & Restore Church recently updated the upstairs sanctuary, sound panels, cafe where they plan to serve coffee and tea, stonework and lighting around the altar. The next renovation plans include adding more sound barrier to eliminate echoes and redoing six units of the heating and cooling system.
A luncheon will follow the Ladies’ Fashion Show in the church’s cafe with croissants, egg salad, chicken salad, cucumber sandwiches, chips, and fruit and vegetable trays. There will also be basket raffles during the show.
“We like to have a lot of fun and joy to show God’s love,” said Linda Munley.
The fashion show is a ladies-only event. Linda Munley said she is “hoping to get about 100 ladies to come.”
