The Princess of Wales is known for her perfect curtsy and was spotted performing on cue during her appearance in Windsor on Tuesday. The 43-year-old was, alongside Prince William, the first member of the Royal Family to welcome the French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, to the UK on Tuesday.
The couple are currently on a three-day visit to the UK, and were greeted by Kate and William at RAF Northolt in London. The French President, his wife, Kate and William then made their way to Windsor where they met King Charles and Queen Camilla.
When they met the King and Queen, Kate was spotted performing a curtsy a total of four times in front of her father-in-law.
As President Macron and Brigitte went over to greeted by the King and Queen, Kate was seen curtsying twice – likely to make sure that she was seen to be doing so.
She then curtsied, for a third time, when she saw the King, and a fourth time when greeting Camilla.
Kate’s curtsy with Camilla appeared to be longer, with the two also exchanging a kiss on the cheek beforehand.
Despite their own royal status within the Firm, the Prince and Princess of Wales are known to regularly follow formal royal protocol by bowing and curtseying to the King and Queen.
Kate’s attendance for the evening’s State Banquet was only confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, as her participation in major events continued to be confirmed at the last minute, as she continues to safeguard her health following her cancer battle.
Kensington Palace released a new picture of William and Kate as they prepared to attend the French State Banquet at Windsor Castle.
Alongside the picture, the post read: “Ready for what promises to be a wonderful State Banquet this evening in Windsor”, following by both the United Kingdom and French flags.
