The upcoming meeting between La Liga giants Real Madrid and Italian powerhouse Juventus could be halted on more than one occasion later this evening.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments surrounding the clash.
Two of European football’s most recognisable clubs are of course primed to do battle later today, in the knockout rounds of the Club World Cup.
A place in the competition’s quarter-finals is up for grabs, with both sides no doubt eager to march on, aware of the considerable financial rewards at stake.
As alluded to above, though, in efforts towards as much, both Real and Juve could be hampered by the weather in Miami.
The understanding is that there is a 45% chance of thunderstorms in the area surrounding the Hard Rock Stadium on Tuesday.
And any such development, depending on the exact circumstances, could well result in the game’s immediate suspension.
‘The protocol for thunderstorms is strict (in the USA) and involves the immediate suspension of the match, with both teams and fans having to take shelter.’
Such measures were most recently taken at the Club World Cup this past weekend, when Chelsea’s clash with Benfica was halted for 90 minutes due to adverse weather conditions.
