The brass at La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid are of the collective opinion that a headline member of the defensive ranks at Premier League champions Liverpool is keen on a move to the club.
That’s according to The Athletic, who point towards Ibrahima Konaté as the player in question.
Stopper Konaté has of course long seen his name emerge as a prominent one in the Spanish media headlines.
Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the back, Konaté is considered the ideal profile by Los Blancos.
As much comes in no small part owing to the fact that the 26-year-old’s Anfield contract is due to expire next summer.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Wednesday is anything to go by, then interest in a joining of forces appears to be very much mutual…
‘Madrid believe Konate would like to play for them.’
It is also noted, though, that:
‘Konate could be playing both sides in negotiations until he chooses the option that suits him best.’
