Putin says that West will soon die out following negative forecasts about Russian economy

“Is this what’s happening in Western countries? They keep burying us. They themselves will soon die out there, while they keep burying us nonstop,” the Kremlin chief said in response to a question about forecasts of the Russian economy’s collapse.

He added that Russia’s economic growth in 2024 supposedly amounted to 4.3%, and in 2023 — 4.1%.

What’s going on with the Russian economy

Earlier, analysts from the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) emphasized in their report that the Russian economy only appears to be stable.

In reality, Russia is facing increasing problems due to the war, sanctions, and fake statistics.

The analysts also pointed out that inflation levels in Russia are significantly underestimated. That is why, according to Moscow, economic growth in 2024 supposedly amounted to 4.3%.

At the same time, Mykhailo Honchar, president of the Strategy XXI Center for Global Studies, said in a comment to RBC-Ukraine’s YouTube channel that it is not yet worth counting on the collapse of Russia’s military economy.
