Two English Premier League clubs and a match featuring a women’s A-League All Stars team will headline a four-match football festival in Sydney next year.
The games are part of the 2026 Sydney Super Cup that will see London clubs Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur play men’s A-League sides Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney, and then meet each other.
The last game of the series will pit an All Stars team representing the women’s A-League against Chelsea’s women’s team, who have won England’s Women’s Super League for the past six seasons, and include Matildas stars Sam Kerr and Ellie Carpenter.
The women’s All Stars match will be their second, after a composite side played Arsenal in front of 42,000 fans in 2024.
Organisers say the All Stars team will include Matildas, Football Ferns and rising young stars. from the Ninja A-League.
Australian international Tameka Yallop said: “I loved every minute of the first-ever A-League All Stars Women match when we took on Arsenal last May. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the stars from across the Ninja A-League to test themselves against the best in the world, and also for football fans to see the exciting talent we have playing locally.
“I can’t wait to see another packed out stadium, and come up against Matilda teammates and a Chelsea squad packed with stars of the women’s game.”
Stephen Conroy, APL executive chairman, said the 2026 Sydney Super Cup was set to be a “fantastic exhibition of world class football.”
“It’s a great opportunity for the international talent across our leagues to test themselves against giants of world football.
“Admittedly, I’m a Chelsea fan, but my allegiance will be with the Isuzu UTE A-League sides as they face English Premier League opposition, and of course with the A-League All Stars Women as the international heroes from the Ninja A-League take on Sam Kerr’s Chelsea FC.”
Tickets for the Sydney Super Cup will go on sale to the general public on Friday December 12, 2025, via the Sydney Super Cup website.
