Several major stars including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Kim Kardashian, Jason Momoa and many former cast members walked the red carpet leading into Sunday night’s SNL 50: The Anniversary Special celebrating Saturday Night Live.

SNL 5o: The Anniversary Special will be broadcast and streaming live on NBC-TV and Peacock. Officially, Saturday Night Live will turn 50 in October. Produced by Lorne Michaels, the first broadcast of SNL happened on Oct. 11, 1975.

The SNL 5o: The Anniversary Special follows the Saturday Night Live musical event SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert, which streamed live on Peacock on Friday. Additionally, SNL has produced the docuseries SNL 50: Beyond Saturday Night and three-hour documentary Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music, which are both streaming on Peacock.

Former SNL star Eddie Murphy walked the red carpet at the SNL 50th anniversary celebration. Murphy was an SNL cast member from 1980-1984.

Kristen Wiig was also at the event. Wiig was an SNL cast member from 2005-2019.

SNL alum Maya Rudolph, who attended the celebration, was an SNL cast member from 2000-2007 and has since returned in guest roles on the show.

Tracy Morgan waved to the crowd while walking the SNL 50th Anniversary red carpet. Morgan was a cast member on SNL from 1996-2003.

Former SNL cast member Pete Davidson appears at the event. Davidson was an SNL cast member from 2014-2022.

Former SNL cast member Adam Sandler appeared at the 50th anniversary celebration red carpet with Jackie Sandler, actor Laura Dern, musican Eddie Vedder. and Jill Vedder.

Sandler was an SNL writer in 1991 and transitioned to a featured player to a full-time cast member from 1991-1995.

Former SNL cast member Fred Armisen and actor Ricki Lindhome walks the SNL 50th anniversary celebration red carpet. Armisen was an SNL cast member from 2002-2013.

Original SNL cast member Chevy Chase walked at the event. Chase appeared on the first episode of SNL on Oct. 11, 1975, and left the show after one season.

Pedro Pascal appeared on the red carpet for the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special. Pascal has appeared on SNL as a host.

Original SNL cast member Garrett Morris appears on the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special red carpet. Morris appeared on the first episode of the show on Oct. 11, 1975, and remained with SNL until 1980.

Former talk show host David Letterman and Letterman bandleader Paul Schaffer attended the SNL event. Shaffer was also a member of the original SNL band from 1975-1980.
