The Philadelphia Eagles have no shortage of fans, whether or not some are sometimes a bit too unruly.
But most keep their cool during Birds games, including several famous athletes and Hollywood celebrities who won’t hesitate to say “Go Birds” or give a “Fly, Eagles, Fly” chant.
Here are just a few of the most well-known and why they’re seen as super fans.
Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant
The late Kobe Bryant never played for the 76ers, but his days growing up in suburban Philadelphia and playing basketball at Lower Merion High School made him a passionate Eagles fan.
Bryant may have won five NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers, but a viral moment captured from his home with his daughter after the Eagles’ first Super Bowl win showed everyone just how much he loved the Birds.
“I was in shock, kind of like a numb feeling at first,” said Bryant, who died unexpectedly in 2020. “It was finally our turn to celebrate. It’s a surreal feeling.”
Los Angeles Angels great Mike Trout
Mike Trout, the perennial all-star and three-time American League MVP of the Los Angeles Angels, is a fixture near the end zone at The Linc once baseball season ends. He’s been a diehard Birds fan since growing up in Millville, a small suburban town in South Jersey.
He even got former Boston Red Sox great David Ortiz to do an Eagles chant on TV.
Hollywood movie star Bradley Cooper
Bradley Cooper has been so close to winning an Academy Award, receiving 12 nominations for numerous roles.
Despite his desire to one-day claim on Oscar, the Montgomery County, Pennsylvania native says he’d rather have an Eagles Super Bowl victory — or so he claims.
Maybe he’s being sincere since it’s common to see him seated next to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, even during meaningless regular-season finales.
Philly native and comedian Kevin Hart
North Philly native Kevin Hart is such a big Eagles fan that even security couldn’t stop him from finding a way to celebrate a Super Bowl victory with the team.
The comedian and movie star found his way onto the field following the Eagles’ 41-33 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII and quickly made his way toward the podium before being stopped by a security guard. This didn’t deter Hart, who instead interrupted a live TV interview with Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox.
‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ star Rob McElhenney
“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star and co-creator Rob McElhenney may own a soccer team in Wales, but his true love is the Philadelphia Eagles. The Philly native not only named a show after his hometown but couldn’t keep his eyes off the Birds even while attending the Emmys. The Eagles didn’t win that night, McElhenney did.
