Philadelphia, Pa — Philly-born brand, Phannies, is making waves with stadium approved bags that blend fashion and fandom.
Founded by Abby Zweigle and Beck Gilbert, college friends turned entrepreneurs, the company started after Beck created a custom fanny pack bag for an Eagles game that garnered praise from other fans.
Recognizing the lack of stylish options, they launched a brand that celebrates Philadelphias diehard sports culture. Each piece is designed by the pair, who infuse passion and personality into every product.
“We really have an advantage when we create our design because we are the purest of Philly fans”, explains Abby, “and also a little bit of fashionista fans that like to bring some fun into game day.” From glizzy change purses to fun Philly-centric clear bags, their accessories allow fans to show team pride while meeting stadium rules. The duo aims to expand the business to include bags from other sports towns.
“Our goal in the next few years is to get a Phannie in any women’s hands that are fans, for any team, across the US,” says Abby. “To be business entrepreneurs and specifically women in this area that is male dominated, let’s take over the world.”
