Oleksandr Usyk takes on Daniel Dubois in a huge heavyweight title unification rematch this weekend at Wembley Stadium, after a controversial end to their first fight in 2023
Saturday evening will see Wembley Stadium reverberate with the clash of heavyweights Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois.
In one of the most eagerly awaited fights of the year, WBA, WBC and WBO world heavyweight title holder and dual-weight undisputed champion Usyk is set to face off against IBF world heavyweight belt-holder Dubois in a bid to unify the division once more.
The two first locked horns back in August 2023 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian successfully defended his trio of titles via a ninth-round stoppage, despite a controversial moment when he was floored by Dubois in the fifth round due to what the referee deemed a low blow.
Usyk subsequently triumphed over Tyson Fury, unifying the heavyweight division. However, he relinquished the IBF title, later claimed by Dubois, to concentrate on his rematch with the Gypsy King, which he also won.
Now, as Dubois seeks retribution, unification is back on the table. We’ve got all the details you need for Saturday’s main event, including ringwalk times, the undercard and how to watch live for free.
Where is Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2 taking place?
The rematch between Usyk and Dubois will be their first bout on British soil, set to unfold at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London, reports Lancs Live.
Usyk and Dubois’ initial encounter filled Stadion Wroclaw in Poland with eager fans, while the Ukrainian’s last two bouts with Fury were held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The undefeated 38-year-old hasn’t stepped into a UK ring since 2021, when he first faced Anthony Joshua at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
What time does Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2 start?
Coverage from Wembley starts at 5:30pm on Saturday, with the first undercard bout expected to begin around 5:40pm. The main event is scheduled for a 9:45pm ring walk.
However, this timing could shift if any of the other fights on the night, including two additional title bouts, overrun, potentially causing a later start.
