The National Weather Service (NWS) Indianapolis said light showers could come through the area Tuesday night and the city might experience snow squalls tomorrow.
The main concern for this week is the possibility of snow showers and squalls coming in Wednesday, which could affect travel. They caution drivers to take it slow on the roads if you get caught up in the intense snow fall.
Expect 35-50 mph gusts of winds during the snow shower and squall.

What is a snow squall?
A snow squall is an intense burst of snow and winds that usually last one to three hours. They create whiteout visibility and rapidly deteriorate road conditions.
Scattered snow showers are expected Wednesday afternoon and evening, with wind gusts potentially reaching 40 mph during the late afternoon and evening. That could drastically reduced visibility within heavier snow showers and squalls, the National Weather Services noted in its hazardous weather outlook advisory.
Wind chill values could dip below zero late Wednesday night.
What you can do now. Drive safe!
Prepare for the reasonable worst case scenario, which would include accumulating snow and brief travel impacts. When planning your commute for Wednesday, keep this in mind:
- 👀 Stay alert
- ⚠️Reduce your speed
- 🚨Watch for brake lights ahead of your from other vehicles
- ↔️ Leave more space between cars
