Norwich scouts travel to Portugal for 16th World Scout Moot

Lily Mai Spinks from Hevingham, Patrick Johns from Skeyton, and Shane Davenport from Norwich are in Portugal with nearly 500 UK scouts for the 16th World Scout Moot.

The event will see around 9,000 scouts from across the globe take part in a four-day expedition, scouting activities and cultural learning sessions.

Lily Mai said: “This World Scout Moot is my next adventure. I’m hoping to make new friends from around the world.”

Patrick Johns Moot 2025 (Image: Martyn Milner) Patrick said: “This is my first big international scout trip, and I can’t wait to get to the site. I want to make new friends from around the world.”

Shane added: “This is going to be such an awesome event. I’m really looking forward to meeting loads of new people from around the world.”

Chief scout Dwayne Fields wished the UK contingent good luck and said he was confident they would create “memories, friendships, and skills to last a lifetime”.
