NIXA, Mo. — Police have arrested a Christian County woman after allegedly targeting elderly victims through a celebrity impersonation scam.

According to a Nixa Police Department social media post, Sarah Mills, of Nixa, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 2, for charges of money laundering, conspiracy, and two counts of felony stealing.
The post indicates that Mills is accused of coordinating with other criminal actors online between 2024 and 2025, stealing thousands of dollars from victims through the scam.
The Nixa Police Criminal Investigations Division worked with several agencies across four states in locating funds collected by Mills, which were converted into cryptocurrency.
