NEW YORK, N.Y. — A heartwarming and stylish event unfolded for New York Fashion Week at Sony Hall in Times Square on Sept. 9.
Designers, models, rescue animals, and charitable organizations came together at the glamorous intersection of fashion and philanthropy for Catwalk Furbaby, the signature event created by ELYSIAN founder Karen Floyd.
The evening also featured the New York premiere of Catwalk Furbaby 2, a documentary capturing the glamour, creativity, and purpose behind the celebrated showcase, putting organizers—and of course, the fur babies—center stage on film.
Hosted by ELYSIAN Impact at Sony Hall inside the Paramount Hotel in Times Square, the event offered a behind-the-scenes look at the designers, models, rescue animals, and charitable organizations that have helped make the showcase a standout during New York Fashion Week.
This year’s event celebrated compassion, fashion, and purpose—with a twist. The documentary told the story of how a ragtag team from South Carolina helped launch a New York Fashion Week showcase, while a stray from the same hometown found its way to one of New York’s finest homes.
The film highlighted visionary designers and the remarkable New York charities they support.

Each participating charity received its own individualized documentary to use as a fundraising tool, with the premiere aiming to inspire long after the final walk and raise both awareness and funds.
The Catwalk Furbaby event brought together leaders and influencers from both the fashion and philanthropy communities, providing a platform to spotlight the incredible work of nonprofit organizations while celebrating innovative design.
The evening began with a red carpet at 7 p.m., followed by the first public screening of the documentary at 7:30 p.m., and concluded with an exclusive after-party at the same venue.
Originally conceived by Karen Floyd, Catwalk Furbaby has grown into one of Fashion Week’s most innovative events, blending couture with a mission to support animal welfare and a wide range of charitable causes.
The documentary highlighted the creativity, dedication, and personalities that fuel the initiative, illustrating how fashion can serve as a platform for meaningful impact.
The event’s tagline, “Where Fashion Meets Philanthropy,” underscored its dual focus: celebrating artistry on the runway while emphasizing the ripple effect of giving back.
