La Liga giants Real Madrid will see their next incoming piece of transfer business move forward in significant fashion on Saturday.
This comes amid confirmation that long-time target Álvaro Carreras is expected in Spain’s capital later today, ahead of penning his contract with the club.
The name of defender Carreras has of course been a prominent one in the headlines in Spain’s capital throughout the summer to date.
This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the 22-year-old had been earmarked as the priority target to reinforce the left-back ranks in Real Madrid’s squad.
Negotiations, in turn, had long been kicked into gear with the board at Portuguese heavyweights Benfica.
Over recent days, word was forthcoming that Los Blancos were finally making progress in discussions, with the transfer inching towards completion as a result.
So much so that, as alluded to above, Carreras is expected in Madrid on Saturday to undergo a medical.
