A Montgomey woman has died following a Thursday night house fire.
Units with Montgomery Fire and Rescue went to the 6900 block of Sandfield Drive about 11:07 p.m. to find a house showing heavy smoke and flame, said Assistant Chief Stanley Cooper, spokesman for MFR.
Fire personnel brought the blaze under control and found the woman during a search of the structure. She was taken to Baptist Medical Center East where she was pronounced dead, Cooper said.
This marks the third fire-related death in the city in about a week.
On Feb. 27 a man and a boy died in an apartment fire on Park Town Way.
