Major League Baseball’s ‘Ballpark App’ is receiving backlash surrounding allegations that tickets are being stolen.
With the regular baseball season winding down and the playoffs right around the corner, tickets are a hot commodity.
Baseball fans have been complaining about their tickets disappearing from the MLB Ballpark app.
Instead of chanting at the stadium, they’re ranting across multiple social media platforms.
The league explained that the app is still operating like usual, but lays the blame on cyber attacks on other online platforms.
A statement said in part, “There is no evidence that this was a breach of the MLB system. Bad actors then have utilized leaked or stolen credentials from other websites in efforts to access the accrounts of MLB fans. We are working tirelessly to address this matter and protect our fans.”
7 On Your Side advises that if you use the ballpark app to protect your tickets now, by going into your settings and changing your password immediately.
Make sure it’s not the same password you use on other apps. You never want to repeat passwords across platforms.
If possible, try to set up two-factor authentication so your account is extra secure.
