The Met Office has issued a Yellow weather warning over the weekend as Storm Darragh approaches the UK.
The warning covers from 3pm tomorrow, Friday 6 until 6am on Sunday 8, and suggests some disruption and damage.
While Essex will see gusts up to 40-50mph, other parts of the UK including Northern Ireland, south-west Scotland and western parts of England and Wales will see gusts of up to 80mph.
The strong northerly or northwesterly winds are likely to cause some minor damage to buildings, result in longer journey times and potentially affect mobile phone coverage.
Maldon is set to see a soggy weekend, with high chances of rain all-day Saturday and Sunday.
The weather has caused Burnham Carnival Committee to cancel their annual Festive Fayre, citing safety concerns.
