Suspect in UnitedHealthcare CEO’s death arrested
Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate hailing from a prominent Baltimore family, was arrested and charged with murder yesterday in connection to last week’s shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Manhunt ends: Mangione was taken into custody at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pa. He was found with a gun consistent with the one used in the shooting, a fake ID and a handwritten document that suggested “ill will toward corporate America,” New York City police said. [Yahoo News]
The charges: New York prosecutors charged Mangione with murder and four other related gun charges. He’s also facing gun and forgery charges in Pennsylvania, where he’s being held without bail. [Reuters]

3 QUESTIONS
…about Maria
Angelina Jolie’s new biopic, Maria, hits Netflix tomorrow. I asked Yahoo Entertainment reporter Kelsey Weekman, who saw it, what to expect from the buzzy film.
Jessica: So what’s this movie about?
Kelsey: Good question. It’s the third and final movie in Pablo Larraín’s trilogy about powerful 20th-century women. This one’s about Greek opera legend Maria Callas in her final days, dealing with drug-induced hallucinations and a fading voice, as she looks back on her storied life.
Jessica: Does Angelina Jolie actually sing in the movie?
Kelsey: Yes! She went through seven months of training to replicate Callas’s distinct sound. In October, she said it was a rare role for which she was asked to “give everything you’ve got.”
Jessica: Is it worth watching?
Kelsey: I’m not really well-acquainted with the world of opera, but Jolie is such a powerhouse in it, and her performance swept me away. She’s getting Oscar buzz for it, and rightly so!
Go deeper: Here’s what Jolie said surprised her about singing opera.
