The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was called around 1:30 p.m. to the 15000 block of Greenwell Springs Road on Saturday, Jan. 3.

Upon arrival, EBRSO learned that Fourroux was involved in the crash. The sheriff’s office said he crossed the center line and hit a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

The responding deputy said Fourroux could not answer questions, had slurred speech, rambled, and his eyes did not react to light.

He was detained and said he did not do any drugs or drink alcohol. One witness told EBRSO that Fourroux was driving fast and crossed the center line multiple times.

A search of his vehicle uncovered various drug paraphernalia, including two empty glass vials. Fourroux said none of what was found belonged to him.

Further investigation found that his vehicle was not insured and he was arrested on four other occasions for DWI.

Fourroux said no one else was in the vehicle with him. Blood was later taken from him for analysis.
