A fashion show in Naples brought the community together for more than just style. The new Anne Fontaine boutique on Fifth Avenue partnered with the local nonprofit Beverly’s Angels to host a unique runway event.
The fashion show took place at the Naples Players, transforming the venue into a celebration of confidence and kindness. Twenty-five local women, many of whom walked the runway for the first time, represented the nonprofit’s mission to make everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.
“The young lady that’s going to talk, that’s going to walk the runway today, she sent in a Dear Santa request, and she is turning 15,” said Faith Schwalback, founder of Beverly’s Angels. “She wanted a quinceañera dress. She wanted it in cobalt blue. She’d never had anything like that, and we received her submission, which also mentioned that she would love someone to take her photo in a pretty blue dress. And she would love to be able to go out to dinner on her birthday with her family, just to McDonald’s. And you know, when I got that, I was like, Okay, we have to do more.”
The young woman’s wish came true on a day she would remember forever.
“No, I would have never imagined myself going out there like that, but I’m happy I did,” said Evelyn Serrato, a 14-year-old neighbor.
Local business owner Pearl Baker, who has been involved with Beverly’s Angels for more than a year, emphasized the importance of giving back.
“Not everybody is as blessed as we are. And I think that’s a powerful message that, since we have it, we can share, we can nurture, we can cherish, we can coach, we can mentor,” said Baker, owner of Paint Nail Bar.
For Naples native Rochelle Shucart, the event highlighted what makes the area special—neighbors uniting for a common cause.
“Well, this has been so fun. We just did a practice, and the girls are all cheering each other on. Someone back there gave me a little class on how to walk down the aisle, so we’re all kind of rooting for each other. No one’s ever done this before,” said Shucart.
The event showcased how the blend of style and service can spread confidence throughout the community.
