LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — As sports betting becomes increasingly accessible through apps, Las Vegas casinos are stepping up their game to attract both tourists and locals during the NFL season.
With a decline in tourism, casinos are eager to capitalize on the energy that football season brings.
John Murray of Westgate Casino says they’ve been working on adapting to the new sports betting atmosphere.
“It’s very competitive nowadays, you don’t need to come to Nevada or Las Vegas to bet on sports legally anymore,” Murray said. “You’ve got to give people more of a reason to come out to Las Vegas to come to your Sportsbook.”
Michael Libonati from South Point Casino noted that despite the convenience of sports betting apps, people from across the country and the local area are still flocking to casinos to watch and bet on games.
“It’s just an energy, the locals and the visitors, it’s really just incredible to see,” Libonati said.
Both Murray and Libonati are optimistic about what the season will bring this year.
“NFL season brings out the best, I mean everybody comes out,” Libonati said.
