Fashion designer Lidiya Romanchuk readies her models to showcase her “Unstoppable” collection during the annual Boston Fashion Awards on Nov. 10.
Romanchuk was born and raised in Ukraine and moved to Boston to attend the School of Fashion Design. In recent years, she has worked as a restaurant hostess and server at the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel.
But like her collection name, she’s never stopped pursuing her dreams, Romanchuk told the Globe earlier this year — even when facing obstacles and setbacks.
“I feel like I’m more grateful to God for the bad things that happen to me than the good things,” she said. “Because all the bad things turn into advantages.”
Her fashion collection was created out of wanting women to feel beautiful from the inside out.
In planning the runway show Romanchuk hired 13 models, two assistants, two make-up artists, four photographers, three videographers, and security guards behind the scenes to bring her vision to life.
