The summer transfer window is officially open with clubs now able to add new signings to their squad. The biggest clubs in European football and clubs across the continent are already making plans for next season. Teams are working tirelessly behind the scenes on identifying targets and figuring out their budgets.

Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals. A plethora of players will become available in the summer where clubs famously have more money to spend and aren’t as restricted by financial fair play rules. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories.

Today’s biggest transfer stories

LAFC are eyeing a move for Tottenham captain Heung-Min Son, according to the New York Times. Spurs activated a one-year contract extension clause last season but his future remains uncertain. Son is reaching the twilight years of his career and LAFC want to bring him to the MLS.

Real Madrid are reportedly willing to pay over €115 million to sign Rodri from Manchester City this summer. While it’s viewed as incredibly unlikely that Rodri will leave the Etihad or that Madrid could finance such a deal, the Ballon d’Or winner has been constantly linked with a return to Spain.

Atletico Madrid have emerged as potential frontrunners for Antony, according to reports in Spain. Real Betis are keen for the Brazilian to return on loan after a successful spell last season but Manchester Untied prefer a permanent sale. And Atletico could afford their asking price of around €35m, which would be prohibitive for Betis.
