LaLiga hasn’t received a postponement request

The controversy continues over Real Madrid’s first La Liga match against Osasuna, scheduled for August 19.

According to SER, the Madrid club had sent an official letter to LaLiga requesting that the opening league match be postponed and played on October 29 instead.

However, LaLiga says it has no record of receiving such a letter. Sources from the league told Mundo Deportivo that there is no documentation of Real Madrid having requested a postponement of the first league match.

They did not rule out the possibility that the request might arrive in the future, but as of now, the letter does not exist.

Should they receive the request, LaLiga made it clear they will review Real Madrid’s arguments before making a decision.

The league also stressed that it will strictly adhere to the collective bargaining agreement and the regulations established by both LaLiga and the Spanish Football Federation regarding this matter.
