Lake Effect Snow Warning issued for Greater Akron Wednesday

An Arctic storm is expected to bring snow and gusty wind to Greater Akron.

It’s our turn.

The relatively snow-free days are coming to an end.

A strong Arctic cold front will cross northern Ohio Wednesday night into Thursday bringing with it gusty winds and some snow.

The National Weather Service says it may start out as rain, but as temperatures quickly drop to below freezing, a sudden burst of heavy snow is expected to drop an inch or so making driving tricky.

The high wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour in Greater Akron could create blowing and drifting of snow, the weather service says.
