Bowness-on-Windermere and Keswick, both in Cumbria, have been deemed the most festive spots in a new study by Betway Casino.
Bowness-on-Windermere claimed the top position, with Keswick also making it into the top five.
The study ranked 37 UK towns and cities, assessing them on a variety of festive factors, including average December snowfall and temperature, the number of cosy cafes, and online engagement with Christmas-related content.
Bowness-on-Windermere secured its place as the UK’s most Christmassy town due to its picturesque winter scenery.
The town receives an average of 84mm of snowfall in December, combined with an average temperature of 4°C, offering a quintessential winter atmosphere.
The presence of 14 cosy cafes throughout the town provides plenty of options to warm up after a snowy stroll.
Keswick, just a short drive from Bowness, also scored high in the rankings.
The town, with its crisp 4°C average December temperature and snow-dusted fells, boasts 42 cafes for its small population, ranking second for cafes per capita.
This makes it an ideal spot for warming up after exploring the Lake District’s winter trails.
The Keswick Christmas Lights Switch-On event is set to take place on Friday, November 21, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Betway also revealed the locations where you’re most likely to enjoy a white Christmas.
Once more, Bowness-on-Windermere topped the list, offering the best chance of experiencing snow, with an average December snowfall of 84mm and cool temperatures around 7.8°C.
