Who Is Lauren Sanchez?
Lauren Sanchez was born in New Mexico’s Albuquerque on December 19, 1969. A third-generation Mexican-American, she is an author and an Emmy-winning journalist.
Sanchez has a long and fulfilling career in the TV news and entertainment industry behind her. She has had various on-screen stints in the broadcast media. The most prominent among them is her role stint as one of the co-hosts of Fox’s Good Day LA. She appeared on the show from 2011 to 2017.
She has also worked as an entertainment reporter during her career in the mainstream media. Prior to her stint on ‘Extra’, Sanchez used to work as a news anchor and reporter for a Phoenix-based television station.
Sanchez has also been associated with Fox Sports Net. There she earned an Emmy nomination for working as an anchor and reporter for sports magazine Going Deep.
After serving as an anchor for Fox Sports News Primetime, she appeared as a reporter on ‘Best Damn Sports Show Period’.
In 1999, she made a full circle back to her maiden employer, KCOP-TV, to anchor a news show. There, her team won an Emmy Award.
In 2005, Sanchez became the original host of famed American reality dance show, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. However, she left the show after only one season to have her second child.
In 2016, Sanchez turned to her long-held passion for aviation and pursued aspirations by founding Black Ops Aviation. The company had the distinction of being the first female-owned aerial film production agency. Her expertise as a licensed chopper pilot was on full display when she consulted on major film projects like Miss Bala, and Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.
She has also appeared in several feature movies, including Ted 2, The Longest Yard, and Fight Club.

Lauren Sanchez’ personal life
Sanchez was in the middle of her divorce with renowned Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell when she started dating Jeff Bezos.
She had two children during her marriage with Whitesell. Prior to the marriage, Sanchez had her first child Nikko with ex-boyfriend and former NFL player Tony Gonzalez in 2001.
