Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is set to marry American author Lauren Wendy Sanchez in what is already being called the “wedding of the century.” The grand celebration is scheduled for the summer of 2025 in the enchanting city of Venice, Italy.
The couple is reportedly planning to get married on the biggest masthead yacht ever built, Koru, which comes with a staggering price tag of $500 million, according to Daily Mail. The wedding, expected to take place in June, will be a star-studded affair, drawing some of the biggest names from Hollywood, the business world, and political circles.
So, what does this extravagant wedding have in store? Here’s a closer look at the lavish arrangements and the A-list guest list that is expected to make this wedding one of the most talked-about events of the year.
Bezos’ fairytale wedding in Venice
Bezos and Sanchez’s wedding is set to be nothing short of spectacular, with Venice as the chosen backdrop for their grand celebration.
The idea of hosting the wedding in the historic Italian city was reportedly influenced by Domenico Dolce of Dolce & Gabbana, who shared his deep love for Venice with Morris Ceron, director general of the Venice Council.
“Seven months ago, Domenico Dolce told me Bezos was getting married. I got to work to bring this marriage of the century to Venice — that’s how it started.” Ceron had told the Venice newspaper Il Gazzettino.
Luigi Brugnaro, the mayor of Venice, said Ceron’s lobbying had won the day. “We were in competition with other places but we won out,” he said.
While the couple has yet to confirm the exact wedding venue, there is much speculation. Bezos’ $500 million megayacht, Koru, is expected to play a role in the celebrations, given that it was aboard this very yacht that the 61-year-old billionaire proposed to
Sanchez in May 2023 with a stunning pink diamond ring worth at least $2.5 million.
The 415-foot-long Koru, which features nine cabins and can accommodate up to 18 VIP guests, will be anchored in the Venetian lagoon, Page Six reported. However, due to strict Italian regulations protecting Venice’s famed canal system, the yacht cannot serve as the main wedding venue.
Instead, an entire fleet of Venetian water taxis will be available to ferry the couple’s 250 high-profile guests across the canals throughout the celebrations.
Journalists in Venice also speculate that San Giorgio Maggiore, an island opposite St Mark’s Square, could be a potential wedding venue. The island, known for its former monastery, is managed by the Giorgio Cini Cultural Foundation, which previously hosted an event for French billionaire Francois Pinault.

Ultra luxury hotels, dreamy outfits & more
As for the stay, Bezos and Sanchez have secured Venice’s most opulent hotels to accommodate their guests, reported La Repubblica.
These include: The Gritti Palace, once favoured by Ernest Hemingway; Hotel Danieli, a 14th-century palace with stunning lagoon views; Aman Venice, where George Clooney celebrated his wedding; Belmond Hotel Cipriani, an exclusive retreat on Giudecca Island and St. Regis Venice, renowned for its glamorous setting.
Room prices at these ultra-luxurious hotels start at $3,200 per night but can soar up to ten times that amount, depending on the level of extravagance.
As for the dreamy wedding dress, Sanchez has already chosen her wedding gown, reportedly from Oscar de la Renta, with guidance from Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
All the arrangements are being overseen by London-based luxury event firm Lanza & Baucina for the wedding of the Amazon founder and his helicopter-flying fiancée, who is also preparing for a
space mission with an all-female crew in May.
Who all will attend the grand wedding?
According to Daily Mail, the guest list for Bezos and Sánchez’s wedding is packed with some of the biggest names from the worlds of business, entertainment, and royalty.
Among the A-listers expected to attend on Sánchez’s side are Kim Kardashian, her mother Kris Jenner, legendary singer Barbra Streisand, and even Queen Rania of Jordan.
Bezos, on the other hand, is expected to be joined by high-profile friends, including US President Donald Trump, actor Leonardo DiCaprio, fellow billionaire Bill Gates, and talk show icon Oprah Winfrey.
Other prominent names on the guest list reportedly include Eva Longoria, Katy Perry, and Orlando Bloom, along with media personality Gayle King. US President’s daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, as well as supermodel Karlie Kloss and her husband Joshua Kushner, are also expected to make an appearance.
In addition, models Brooke Nader and Camila Morrone, film producer Brian Grazer, media mogul Barry Diller, and fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg have also secured their spots at the luxurious celebration, TMZ reported.
However, neither Bezos nor the expected celebrity guests have officially confirmed their attendance.
