Amazon reportedly wants to turn James Bond into this huge franchise, with spin-offs, sequels, and prequels, while Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson were keen to protect the legacy of their father, the legendary producer, Cubby Broccoli. As fans of Harry Bosch know all too well: Legacy matters.

Talks had stalled between Amazon and MGM, until Broccoli and Wilson stepped aside and handed full creative control of James Bond to Amazon. The official statements from Broccoli and WIlson were positive, just how Amazon likes it. However, as fans of Bosch: Legacy are well aware, Amazon’s statements don’t always tell the full story. Would Amazon Rather Pay People Off Than Give Bosch: Legacy A Proper Ending?

Barbara Broccoli was rightly concerned with the legacy of the James Bond franchise after Amazon bought the rights to it. Unfortunately, making a deal with Amazon is like getting into bed with the devil himself. Amazon is interested in one thing: making money. Storytelling is a distant second place on Amazon’s wishlist, and they seemingly want to run certain franchises like James Bond into the ground at the expense of high-quality storytelling. Ironically, Amazon doesn’t want to do that after the third season of Bosch: Legacy, and would rather kill it off altogether. Amazon tried to control the narrative that it was a ‘fitting end’ to Bosch: Legacy and not a cancelation. However, a mixture of Titus Welliver’s pre-cancelation comments, and multiple cast and crew speaking out against the cancelation proved otherwise. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that the executives involved in the decision-making about Bosch: Legacy‘s future spoke similar words to what Bezos allegedly uttered about Barbara Broccoli.

The Head of Television of Amazon MGM Studios is a man called Vernon Sanders, and he is one of the key figures behind the cancelation of Bosch: Legacy. The question is: Did Sanders drive the Amazon Money Truck into Los Angeles to stop the dissenting voices from speaking out against the cancelation of the show? Of course, nobody knows. Well, somebody knows. Vernon Sanders isn’t capable of running a television studio properly, so it’s a stretch to suggest he could drive an Amazon truck anywhere other than his backyard. Of course, it’s figuratively speaking, but the question persists about why it was so important to cover up the reason for canceling Bosch: Legacy. Barbara Broccoli was allegedly paid off to keep quiet and go away, and her parting statement was eerily similar to Michael Connelly’s when Bosch: Legacy’s ending was announced. Nothing but praise for the ‘wonderful’ executives at Amazon. By the sounds of it, Barbara Broccoli would get on very well with Bosch: Legacy fan favorite, Troy Evans, who had a very blunt response to Amazon’s poor promotion of Bosch: Legacy.

The fans see right through all the fake statements, and they are very aware that money has a very distinct ability to make people suddenly lose their voice. Unfortunately, as Amazon destroys the Hollywood industry with below-par ‘content’, the creative voices who once ruled the roost are a dying breed.
