21st November 2024 – (Hong Kong) In a coordinated crackdown involving police forces from Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, and Singapore, 65 individuals were arrested as part of a sweeping operation targeting cross-border prostitution rings. Among those detained was a popular Japanese adult video (AV) actress, caught in the extensive sting dubbed ‘Operation Lawforce’.
The operation, spearheaded by Hong Kong’s Organised Crime and Triad Bureau, unveiled that local and international syndicates had been aggressively promoting Japanese AV actresses to lure clients. Telegram groups were identified as the primary platforms for these activities, wherein the actresses were advertised to prospective clients, promising personal encounters in exchange for substantial sums. It is understood that the syndicate listed nearly 20 AV actresses in their group, some of whom are quite popular. During this operation, a well-known Japanese AV actress, “Madoka Asamiya” who has gained significant popularity in the industry but has recently reduced her output, was arrested. The list also included another popular actress, “Miru,” who, however, was not implicated in the arrests.
One of the notable personalities mentioned but not arrested in the recent police operation was Miru, a Japanese AV actress whose real name is
Miru Sakamichi. She has been in the spotlight since her debut at the age of 19 and has since become a prominent figure in the AV industry. Despite her high profile, Miru was not implicated in the current crackdown; however, her name appeared on the list used by the syndicates to attract clientele.
The operations revealed that transactions could range from a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars, with some instances involving up to HK$150,000 per engagement. This included events where actresses like the arrested ‘Asamiya,’ would meet fans in Hong Kong, effectively blurring the line between public appearances and illicit activities.
