Elon Musk praised Ivanka Trump‘s inauguration style and she replied in kind.

The Tesla CEO and Ivanka attended multiple inauguration events for President Donald Trump, including his official swearing in ceremony on Monday.

While Ivanka had played an important in her father’s first presidential term, she has decided to take a step back this time, instead choosing to focus on her three children.

Musk, on the other hand, endorsed Trump throughout his 2024 presidential campaign and was rewarded with an advisory government role. The Space X boss will co-head the newly coined Department of Government Efficiency.

What to Know

Musk made headlines at an inauguration event, where he was deemed to have given a Nazi salute during a speech.

Ivanka was present at many of the event inauguration events, including a candlelight dinner on the eve of the ceremony, where she was commended for her sartorial choices. At the dinner she was seen chatting to Musk and Amazon boss Jeff Bezos.

The tech mogul was one of the people to compliment Ivanka for her outfits over the course of the inauguration events.

“Making fashion beautiful again,” Musk wrote in reply to a photo Ivanka posted on his social media platform, X. The photo showed Ivanka posing in a Audrey Hepburn-inspired gown that she wore to the Commander-in-Chief Ball and other inauguration balls on Monday evening.

Ivanka reposted Musk’s compliment and added a simple white, love heart emoji in response.

What’s Next

Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner, served as senior advisers to the president during his first term, and despite taking a step back from the White House, they may still provide informal advice to Trump.

Maggie Cordish, one of Ivanka’s longtime friends told CNN she would likely serve as an “informal adviser.”

“Ivanka Trump is done with politics and says she isn’t coming back,” she said in an article published on Sunday. “She’s still his daughter, and a trusted voice, so in that sense an informal adviser, as we all are with our family members.”

Kushner is expected to offer informal advice to Trump on Middle Eastern matters and his father, Charles Kushner, was tapped by Trump to be U.S. ambassador to France during his second term.
