Kids fighting cancer, dressed in spooky costumes, joined Browns players on the runway Tuesday for the team’s annual Halloween fashion show.
CLEVELAND — In their spookiest and finest Halloween costumes, kids hit the runway alongside the Cleveland Browns during the team’s annual Halloween fashion show.
Four-year-old Liliana was among 20 kids chosen from The Littlest Heroes and University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s to participate in the special night. For Liliana’s mom, Alexa Geiger, the event offered a brief reprieve from worrying about an upcoming MRI.
“If we were at home, we would probably be thinking about her MRI tomorrow. And while we were here, it didn’t really cross our mind. We were just wondering what player she was gonna come out with, what they were gonna be dressed in,” Geiger said.
Liliana had recently been diagnosed with a benign tumor that had been affecting her ability to walk. But now, she got her moment to shine as Princess Peach.
“She’s definitely on the road to recovery, but scary times,” Geiger said.
From silly moments on the runway to high-fives and hugs with the mascot, every child got a chance to feel special.

“It really just is an evening to have fun — to be a kid again — and for the players to be a kid again as well,” said Jenner Tekancic, vice president of community relations for the Browns.
Players, including Ethan Pocic — who made a playful runway debut as a slice of pizza — said giving back is an important part of their work.

“I feel like God always calls us to give back, so it’s a blessing to be a blessing,” Pocic said.
