Italian high-end fashion retail concept Brunello Cucinelli has tapped Wedgewood-Houston for its first Tennessee location.
According to a Metro permit application, the boutique will operate in an under-construction building located at 507 Houston St. and part of mixed-use development Wedgewood Village. Nashville-based AJ Capital Partners is undertaking the development.
The permit notes Brunello Cucinelli will operate from 3,560 square feet, with local architecture firm Powell handling the design of the space.
Billionaire businessman and philanthropist Brunello Cucinelli founded his namesake boutique business in 1978 with the Italian lira equivalent of about $550, bloomberg.com previously reported. The company donates about 20 percent of its profits annually to various charities, according to multiple sources.
The future Brunello Cucinelli boutique will join other high-end and luxury retailers and restaurants in Wedgewood-Houston. These include Hermès, Bathhouse, Momotaro and Pastis.
AJ Capital Partners started work in mid-2023 on Wedgewood Village, a multi-building project that will include the South Nashville neighborhood’s historic Merritt Mansion.
As the Post previously reported, Wedgewood Village eventually could offer more than 30 retail stores, 35,000 square feet of restaurants and bars, 148,000 square feet of Class A office space and more than 400 residential apartments (read here).
The first three buildings of the effort will sit on a roughly six-acre site with addresses of 515 Houston St., 448 Humphreys St. and, as noted, 507 Houston St. Chicago-based HPA Inc. is the architect.
AJ Capital officials could not be reached for comment regarding an opening date for Brunello Cucinelli.
