Iranian projectiles target Oracle building in Dubai Internet City, intercepted

The UAE confirmed that debris from an aerial interception of an Iranian projectile fell on the Oracle building in Dubai Marina area, on Saturday morning, but no injuries were reported. Officials said the situation was brought under control quickly, with no reports of fire or structural damage.

“Authorities confirm that they responded to a minor incident caused by debris from an aerial interception that fell on the facade of the Oracle building in Dubai Internet City. No injuries were reported,” wrote Dubai media office on X.

Iran had reportedly attacked Oracle office earlier this week also but the UAE denied such claims. The Dubai Media Office posted a statement on X, saying reports suggesting the IRGC had carried out or tried any attack in Dubai were ‘fake news’ and had no basis in fact.

The aerial interception comes amid the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran, which has also affected Dubai following Tehran’s strikes.

Dubai Marina, a major residential hub, is also a popular tourist destination, home to attractions such as the Dubai Marina Mall.

The UAE has witnessed several fire-related incidents during the conflict, particularly involving strikes on its energy infrastructure since the fighting began on February 28.

According to Al Jazeera, Emirati authorities earlier confirmed that one person was killed and four others injured in an attack on Abu Dhabi’s Habshan gas facility, the country’s largest natural gas processing site, which sustained significant damage.

UAE continues to intercept strikes

Since the war began and Iran started targeting Gulf countries, the UAE has intercepted 475 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles and 2085 drones. On April 3 alone, as per the latest update from ministry of defence, UAE air defences with 18 ballistic missiles, 4 cruise missiles and 47 drones that were sent from Iran.

UAE has lost 2 Army men, while one Moroccan civilian contracted by its Armed forces have lost lives in the war. Not to forget, a total of 9 fatalities have been reported of people from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine and Indian nationalities, said ministry of defence.

“The Ministry of Defence affirmed that it remains fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats and will firmly confront anything that aims to undermine the security of the country, in a manner that ensures the protection of its sovereignty, security and stability and safeguards its interests and national capabilities,” the UAE said in a statement.
