China has officially confirmed the recent border understanding reached with India. The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated, ‘China and India have agreed to resolve the military standoff in eastern Ladakh.’ The border conflict had strained relations between the two countries, particularly after a fierce clash in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, which marked the most serious military conflict between China and India in decades. China’s spokesperson, Lin Jian, mentioned during a media briefing that both nations have been in close communication through diplomatic and military channels regarding issues at the China-India border.
