Humboldt County Fair kicks off in Kinetic fashion – Times-Standard – Charm

Mark Switzerland stands to the left, overseeing a safety test of the Mischief Lab fire show set up beside the racetrack featuring Kinetic people-powered machines and stick-horse racers causing racing mayhem on the Ferndale Racetrack. The Mischief Lab, based in Arcata, specializes in pyrotechnic shows, and recommends that Humboldt County Fair visitors come to their evening shows for the most spectacular views.

Rhinestone Crew members for Sparkles the Horse ready June Moxon’s Kinetic sculpture machine for an obstacle race scheduled for later in the afternoon of the first day of the 129th Humboldt County Fair, the oldest fair in California.
