FC Barcelona looks for an important win in UEFA Champions League action on Wednesday, as they get to face Club Brugge in league phase play.

In the league phase, teams play eight matches, with the top eight clubs advancing to the Round of 16, while the clubs that finish between ninth and 24th place are forced to go to the knockout phase play-offs.
Barcelona has played well so far, but has work to do in order to move into the top eight. While the La Liga power has wins over Newcastle United and Olympiacos, their loss to PSG earlier in October showed the club still has some work to do.
Club Brugge, coming out of the Belgian Pro League, had to win its way through the playoffs to make it to the main group in the UCL for the second year in a row. Brugge made it to the Round of 16 last year before falling to Aston Villa.
This year, the Belgian side defeated Monaco in its first match before losing to Atalanta on Matchday 2. Brugge was then beaten up by Bayern Munich in its last match a few weeks ago.
