CHELSEA (WABC) — One of New York’s most anticipated fashion events is back.
The Housing Works’ annual ‘Fashion for Action’ kicks off Wednesday night, offering designer deals at up to 80% off.
But it’s more than just shopping; every purchase helps fund healthcare and housing for New Yorkers in need.
Inside Housing Works’ flagship store in Chelsea, it’s the shopping event of the year.
Everything at Fashion for Action is donated.
“When I got the ask, it was a no-brainer, I said yes immediately,” Robyn Mowatt said.
Mowatt has worked in the fashion industry for more than a decade. Her room at ‘Fashion for Action’ highlights black designers.
All proceeds from the multi-day event will help support programs at Housing Works, which focuses on homelessness and HIV/AIDS.
Wednesday’s ticketed opening night has tickets starting at $45. Then, Thursday through Sunday, the event is free.
