15th May 2025 – (Hong Kong) Hong Kong saw robust growth in its tourism sector in April, with the Hong Kong Tourism Board reporting a 13 percent year-on-year increase, bringing the total number of visitors to approximately 3.8 million for the month. The upward trend was evident across several key regions. Tourist arrivals from Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Indonesia each rose by more than 20 per cent compared to the same period last year. Australia led the surge with an impressive increase of over 30 percent in visitor numbers.
From January to April 2025, Hong Kong recorded a cumulative total of 16 million visitor arrivals, reflecting a 10% rise compared to the same period in 2024. The growth highlights the city’s ongoing recovery and appeal as a premier travel destination.
