Last night, H&M kicked off London Fashion Week, showing three collections at once Despite the showing of a ton of new clothes — and having celebrities including Emily Ratajkowski, Gabbriette, and Little Simz sit front row — everyone was talking about the stacked runway lineup, which included Alex Consani, Paloma Elsesser, Amelia Gray Hamlin, Iris Law, Romeo Beckham, and Lila Moss.

Ann-Sofie Johansson, head designer and creative adviser of H&M, says this is just the beginning of an exciting year for the brand, which includes collaborations with Belgian designer Glenn Martens and Mexican designer Lorena Saravia. (“We are so happy he had time to make this collaboration,” she said of Martens, who just took the head job at Margiela. “It’s a lot to take on for a designer; it’s a full-time job to collaborate with us.”)

The Studio collection, which is the brand’s most fashion-forward collection, was inspired by São Paulo and the brutalist architecture of the city: “You will see a lot of raw hems,” says Johansson. “You see the inserts of garments on the outside of the piece.” The H&M collection was inspired by Britpop and London, which is one of the reasons why the brand wanted to do its show here. “London has a moment again now, with Oasis coming back again,” says Johansson. (Which makes it only fitting that Anaïs Gallagher and Lennon Gallagher were also both there.)
