About 300 staff members working in an office of the AXA multinational insurance company in Hong Kong have lost as much as HK$150,000 (US$19,290) in a burglary.
An employee discovered that money previously stored in a drawer at the AXA customer service centre on the 20th floor of Tower 2 of Times Square in Causeway Bay was missing on April 1.
More employees then reported missing cash, with over 200 individuals affected and the total amount ranging from HK$100,000 to HK$150,000, according to a police spokesman.
Two workers reported the incident at Happy Valley Police Station on Monday afternoon.
Security footage showed a male suspect entering the premises at about 4pm on March 31 and leaving with a yellow bag at about 7am the following day.
A Wan Chai district investigation team is looking into the case.
